About

Most people don’t struggle to know what is right. They struggle to keep agreeing with it once no one is watching, and once it costs something. That quiet, repeated agreement is what this site is about, and it is where the name comes from.

Amen is a very old word. It began in Hebrew, passed into Christian worship, and is also said in much of Muslim prayer. It carries a sense of firmness and trust, and it is usually rendered truly or so be it. When you say amen, you’re not deciding something new. You’re confirming that you’re still standing where you said you would stand.

“Quiet” comes from what I’ve noticed. I work in technology, and I’ve watched up close how thoroughly our tools reward visibility, volume and performance. Against that, staying committed to what you believe isn’t a weakness. It’s the kind of integrity that lasts, because it doesn’t depend on being seen. So a quiet amen is the decision to keep agreeing with what is true and right, on the days nobody is checking, in the version of your life nobody else sees.

As for me, I’m a husband and a father, learning the messy art of parenting alongside my wife. Beyond home, I’ve been blessed to travel widely and to study and work beside people of many nations, traditions and generations. Those experiences taught me to hold my first impressions loosely. Stereotypes rarely survive a real conversation, and there is almost always more than one way to see a thing. I try to write with that in mind.

My convictions are shaped by the Christian tradition, and I won’t pretend otherwise. But this site isn’t only for people who stand where I do. If you believe that how we live, labour and lead matters, and that we owe one another more than convenience or self-interest, you’ll likely find something familiar here.

You can expect short, honest reflections, now and then a longer one. Mostly they’re about calling, the ordinary decisions that shape a life, and what our technology is quietly doing to us. I’ll be wrong sometimes. When I am, I’ll admit it.

I don’t know yet which posts will matter most to you. I’m trying to write things worth agreeing with twice: once when you read them, and again on the harder day when it costs you something. If that’s worth sticking around for, welcome.
